funds for organizations/individuals disabled/handicapped sector for
their better life.
Applying For Funds:
You can apply for a grant if the
following is true for you:
-
You live in
India
-
Your
organization has a certificate of registration. (If your
group is not registered please contact our office as
sometimes we are able to make exceptions to this rule.)
-

pertaining to existing projects or new projects
Funding decisions:
The applications are first analyzed
by the Board of directors of our organization who may ask the
applicant to provide more information if necessary. The board may
require the following documents for approval:
-
Application for with signatures
-
Current work plan
-
Budget
-
Two reference forms
-
A copy of registration (or an
explanation why one is not available)
Based on the above documents the board
may accept or reject a project for funding or possibly request for
more information. In any case the applicant is informed of the
decision.
Fund granting procedure:
When a project has been accepted for
funding, our organization enters a formal agreement with the
applicant. The applicant organization commits in writing to spend
the grant for the specific purpose stated in the application. Mercy
Vihar transfers funds to the organization only after the contractual
agreement, with all the necessary signatures and attachments have
been received by our office in USA. The currency used to calculate
and approve budgets is the US dollars (the currency of United
States).
The grants are paid to the bank
account that belongs to the applicant organization. If your
organization does not yet have a bank account, then you must first
open a bank account in the name of your organization before Mercy
Vihar can transfer the funding.
When the project is over, the
applicant organization drafts a final report which consists of a
narrative report and a financial report.
Because Mercy Vihar receives far more
applications than we can fund at any given time, it is highly
unlikely that an organization will be funded more than once, unless
we have invited the application. Each year Mercy Vihar selects a few
outstanding organizations, which have fulfilled all aspects of their
agreement with Mercy Vihar including fulfilling work plans etc.
